What year is that engine Troy?  I would check with 71bee for a Carter AVS or a Thermoquad if it were me.

Agreed. Talk to 71bee. He'll set you up with a good Thermoquad or AVS, AFB whatever you need.

BTW Chaz,

Did you ever get that AVS I sent you? man, I would have tried soda blasting it with that newfound technology you posted up recently, if I would have known before hand. I bet that would've helped make it look a bit more "presentable"....maybe.

Yes!! It arrived and is sitting, waiting for me to finish organizing my garage. I plan on going through every inch of it, probably a re-bush, and then  carefully wrap it up for the day I restore the engine back to stock form. Thanks!!

No problem. when I saw it, I immediatlely thought of you! when it arrived, I was horribly disappointed at it's condition. came from Alabama & looked like it had sat at the bottom of a horses trough for the last 20+ years. go to ebay & snag you one of the three 4401 (68 383 HP A/T) carbs listed at this time for parts. they have the exact same jets & metering rods/air horn & base. I have only found one 4426 in the last 2 years.

Troy, for a '69 440 HP, you want at least 750 CFM. your car would have come with a Carter AVS or a few (with A/T only) came equipped with a Holley 4160 (vacuum secondaries). I don't have any "numbers matching" carbs in stock for a '69 440 at this time. I just sold a 4648 for $276.54 on egouge a month or 2 ago. I do have a couple old MoPar 4160's in stock. i'll check their numbers to find out what year & CFM rating they have.

Carter AVS model numbers for O.E.M. Chrysler vehicles- 1969:

440 A/T    -4618
440  S/T   -4617
440 A/T  W/AC   -4640
440 TorqueFlite  (Holley 4160)  -4166
